Career and Technical Educationwas revived in 2011 in Peoria Public Schools, with most programs moving to onelocation, Woodruff Career and Technical Center. Housed on the basement andfirst floors of WCTC, the programs are open to all high school students in theDistrict. Transportation provided to and from the student’s home high school eachday for the courses. Students looking to gain hands-on experience, while usingthe academic skills obtained in their regular classes are encouraged toinvestigate this opportunity. Whether you are college bound or plan to enterthe workforce following high school graduation, Career and Technical EducationPrograms will prepare you for a successful future. Students interested incosmetology and Barbering can acquire full certification upon completion of arigorous two-year program. Those interested in the trades can get hands-onexperience in electrical, drafting and construction. Engineering Process labsare also open to students considering careers in the engineering/architecturefields. Auto body repair is also a Woodruff Career and Technical Center Classoffered off-site at the Transportation Building near Richwoods High School.
