Welcome to the Parent Resource Center!

How To Get Involved
We at Peoria Public Schools District 150 welcome all parents and families to get involved in their student's academic journey. There are many opportunities to get involved with Peoria Public Schools District 150, we encourage families to become active at the individual school level or at the district wide level. If you have any questions please feel free to contact your individual school or Mr. York Powers, Family & Community Coordinator, (309)672-6754.

Parent Advisory Committee:
The district wide Parent Advisory Committee(PAC) is a group formed to help ensure that parents are involved and informed about programs and policies in the school district. Each Title 1 school is required to have parent/guardian representatives for the committee. The meetings are led by York Powers, Family & Community Coordinator. The meetings are an opportunity for parents to discuss new policies and programs in the school district, as well as collaborate and help develop new programs to help increase parental involvement at the school and district level.

Parent University:
We are looking to utilize the Parent University model to adhere to the voices and needs of our students, families, and community. With survey results from our families it was made evident that for this venture to be a success we will need the help of our great community, which includes you. Peoria Public Schools District 150 is looking to provide the opportunity for families to get a wide variety of resources; job skill training, parenting classes, technology training, health classes, social service resources, adult education, how to help student achievement, college preparation, and navigating the modern school system.

This new initiative is free to all that are interested. There will be three hubs at which the Parent Universities will be conducted. Glen Oak Community Learning Center, Harrison Community Learning Center, and Northmoor Primary School.
PIECE OF THE P.I.  PEORIA PUBLIC SCHOOLS DISTRICT 150 WILL BE IMPLEMENTING A NEW PARENT INVOLVEMENT PROGRAM,
“PIECE OF THE P.I.”
National Parent Involvement Day is November 17, and in an effort to increase parental involvement throughout Peoria Public Schools Dist. 150 we will be taking part in the day as well as utilizing the whole week to promote parent/family involvement. The “Piece of the P.I.” program will be a friendly competition awarding the school with the highest amount (percentage) of parent involvement throughout the year. At the conclusion of the school year the school with the best parental involvement will be awarded a trophy. The trophy will be in rotation from year to year for “bragging rights” and put on display at the winning school.
