Peoria High's Kenten Watkins has been nominated for the Prep Rally Player of the Week for his 252 rushing yards and 3 touchdowns in the Lion's outstanding win over state-ranked Normal Community. Click on "read full story" for a link to vote for Kenten.
PHS band, orchestra, and choir students, rocked the Illinois Music Educator Association district auditions on Saturday, October 3rd. PHS was the only Peoria high school to have representation in all three areas. We are making our way to the state competition. Way to go PHS!
On Thursday, October 8th, we will hold a ceremony to officially open our new soccer field. The ribbon cutting ceremony will happen at 4:10 and the Lions' soccer team takes on Urbana at 4:30. Come for the ceremony, then stay around to cheer on the Lions to victory!
Parents, we are looking for members for the newly-formed P.P.O. (Pride Parent Organization). This is a group of parent volunteers that come together and help support the students and staff of Peoria High. Peoria High students and staff donated over 3900 pounds of clothes and household item to beat Richwoods in the "Goodwill Drive to Victory" competition we held last week. Peoria High has the highest total for the season so far and is in the running for a $500 prize as well as a new Smartboard. Special thanks to Ms. Skahill and Mrs. Colgan for coordinating the event. Great job Lions!!
The Peoria High and Manual football teams put aside their rivalry and marched together Thursday night to support the idea of peace in our city. As usual, both schools showed that they can get together for a common goal. For a link to the Journal coverage of the event, click on "read full story".

Beginning August 31st, Peoria High is piloting a new Attendance Policy for the District. The policy is very different from the past policy.
